Axle housing production is currently on hold. We are using this time to prepare for expansion, programing new machinery, and training of new processes. We expect housings to be back in production by the beginning of July. Thank you for your understanding!
This USA fabricated Toyota 8" housing is made in 1 length at 68" long so you have plenty of room to make what ever style axle you want.
Centered (68" Long)
If you are building a front housing you can choose which side you would like us to weld your top truss on. As for the back truss option we only offer it welded on at full the length for a rear aplication.
This Toyota 8" axle housing is a touch different than you are used to seeing from housing fabricators, this housing is not quite round! To put it simply, if it was round it would be weaker.
The Toyota housing has 1/8" clearance on a 4.10 Toyota Ring gear because that is the largest ring gear in the Toyota family. The result is an axle housing that is the smallest shape possible and strongest shape too, AND there are no abrupt edges to hang up on passing rocks.
We spent 2 years developing these and it was another year before I finally found a bender capable of the accuracy we needed to do it right! I initially designed these in October of '06 and continued to modify the basic design over the next 2 years.
I see Axle Housing clearance improvements only slightly behind strength as the primary reason to use a fabricated housing. It has 14 different surfaces to make the semicircle; we could have made it round but its substantially stronger with the bends, each one reinforcing the next and a stronger shape just doesn't exist for an Axle Housing.
They are available in any length. They come in 1 tube diameter and thickness but you can try and convince me that 3 1/2" x 3/8" wall DOM isn't strong enough. They are all internally reinforced the same way (way strong). You have the option of front or rear and left or right drop.
We make flanges for the rear axle to create a Full Floater with rear disc brakes.
