Ford Dana 60 77' Newer Rear Axle Disc Brake Kit

Ford Dana 60 77' Newer Rear Axle Disc Brake Kit

Ford Dana 60 77' Newer Rear Axle Disc Brake Kit

Part Number: OPR2054

Requires single steel wheel 15" with a maximum 4" back spacing

Our disc brake conversion kit is the best conversion to eliminate the drum brakes on a Ford Dana 60 Rear Axle. The Ford Dana 60 axle is common in Ford fullsize trucks from 1977 until the late 80's 3/4 ton and 1 ton range. Some D60 axle have a larger bearing cup/ flange so double check the diameter as these brackets are radiused at 3 15/16".

Changing from Drums brakes to disc brakes is easy, and all the parts you need to complete the conversion are included in this kit to get rid of those heavy drums brakes. These will only work on a '77 and newer Ford rear D60 axle but we have seen some old runs of the older D60 make it into a newer truck. Best way to tell is measure the 4 bolt flange bolt spacing. If they are all equally spaced you will want the 76 and older brackets
Complete Kit Includes:
•1 Pair Ford D60 Rear Disc Brake Brackets
•2 Weld on Brake Line Tabs
•2 Brake Line Clips
•2 New Brake Calipers
•2 Hydraulic Hoses with 10mm Banjo Bolt Fittings
•4 New Brake Pads
•2 New Rotors

*NOTE* Double check your wheel stud diameter and length. These rotors are for a 5/8" knurled diameter stud so you will need to drill the rotors if your studs are larger or try Dormin wheel stud #610-180 which has a 5/8" knurled diameter for the rotor/hub and a 9/16 diameter lug nut. Be sure you have a minimum of 5/8" lug nut thread engagement when torquing wheels

*NOTE* Rotor installs onto the backside of the hub!

*NOTE* Don't forget to re-bleed your brakes once you've installed your new conversion kit.

*NOTE* A Proportioning Valve is recommended, this will allow you to fine tune your front/rear stopping power bias. Your front axle should always do about 70% of the work

After many years of customers asking us for complete Disc Brake Conversion Kits

we finally did it! Now I had resisted doing it for good reason, you could buy the parts

for less locally. However, now that we are bigger and have a bit of buying power we

can beat the local stores and deliver everything in one kit without first asking

if your rig has AC like at the parts stores! All of these kits are tried and true, the 14

Bolt stuff has been made by us for 10 years and all the others have been in the line-up

for at least 8 years! We know how to make them work right the first time.
